30 Foreshocks (from 2009/03-10)
Thirty foreshocks from 2009/03/10 occurred before the main shock in the Central Italy.
Data: form Instituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Volcanologia
It would be difficult to forecast the main shok from only the data of the set of shocks themselve.
It is nessesary to know "the personality of the local earthquake" to forecast the main shock.
3D focal distributions are drawn from the data of USGS focus list.
Used focuses (from USGS) are listed bellow.
Five focuses in southern area seems to be on the plane of strike: N25W, dip: 36NE.
This plane would be the fault which generated the Italy Earthquake in 2009/04/06.
Focal Mechanism of the main shock|
focal mechanism of the Italy Earthquake in 2009/04/06 by USGS is listed bellow.
Best Double Couple:Mo=3.4*10**18
Estimated fault plane showing the distributions of the focuses is similar to the NP1 plane.
